infused liquor kits are an easy, fun and unique gift!
UPDATE: I’ve received SO many comments and emails requesting the labels that I made for this post that I created a PDF that you can print out here! Just grab a pair of scalloped scissors for the pretty edges and tie on with some twine!
infused liquor kits are an easy, fun and unique gift you can make at home!
So excited to be partnering with Annie, Cindy and Mary Ann on a Galentine’s Day round up – and sharing these fun infused liquor kits!
are you “difficult” to shop for?
I’ve been told that I’m “difficult” to buy for – which I totally disagree with, obviously. But the alleged stress of shopping for me often results in some of the most unique and memorable gifts I’ve ever received.
what is an infused liquor kit?
Case in point: for my last birthday Chelsea presented me with a craft cocktail infusion mix packaged in a glass jar. You add the appropriate liquor (in my case bourbon, natch) to the ingredients in the jar, pop in the fridge for 2 days, and you’ve got yourself a delicious cocktail (in my case an Old Fashioned, natch). The ingredients mix with the liquor, infusing it with flavor and making a perfect craft cocktail!
i had to try and make a kit for myself!
Being me I immediately emptied out the jar so I could examine the contents and decided that – if this was as tasty as it looked – I’d try to make a cocktail kit myself.
And then I made four.
These infusion kits would make SUCH a great gift for anyone in your life that enjoys a cocktail, and can be paired with the accompanying liquor, cute glasses, ice cube tray, napkins – the sky’s the limit!
I’m sure you have a friend or two who would appreciate this so much, and it takes no time at all to put together. I’ve enclosed the recipe for the Old Fashioned, with 3 variations below (instructions are the same for all).
And be sure to check out all of the other lovely ideas my fellow bloggers have shared for this Galentine’s Day!

Old Fashioned Infused Liquor Kit
Ingredients
- 2 oranges
- 2 - 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 15 dried cherries
Instructions
Make the sugar cube:
- Zest one of the oranges and place the zest and sugar in a small bowl. Mix till well combined. Test the consistency (it should clump together like damp sand) and add water - a bit at a time - if needed. Pack into the well of an ice cube tray (see Notes, below, for an alternative method). Let dry overnight.
Make the dried fruit:
- Pre-heat the oven to its lowest setting – ideally 150 – 170 degrees. Slice the other orange to about 1/4″ thickness (do not peel) and place the prettiest slices on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Blot with a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture and bake till dried (anywhere from 4 - 6 hours). If you like, you can place the tray with the sugar cube in the oven for 10 - 15 minutes, to expedite drying. Let everything cool completely.
Print or write the instructions on a label:
- Print or write the instructions on a label:
- 1. Add 12 ounces of bourbon to the jar, seal and refrigerate for 2 days.
- 2. Strain the bourbon (you can discard or use the fruit in your cocktail).
- 3. Pour neat, over ice or with club/sparkling water.
- 4. Enjoy!
Assemble the kit:
- Place 3 of the orange slices (cut larger slices in half if needed), the cherries and sugar cube in the mason jar. Attach a label (you can print the instructions on the back) and ribbon or string for gifting.
Notes
- To make a Hot Toddy kit (use whiskey, bourbon or brandy): 3 lemon slices, 3 apple slices, 2 cinnamon sticks, 6 cloves, lemon sugar cube
- To make a Mule kit (use gin or vodka): 3 lime slices, 3 orange slices, 3 pieces of crystallized ginger, lime sugar cube, 2 teaspoons dried mint
- To make a Paloma kit (use tequila, gin or vodka): 1 orange slice, 2 grapefruit slices, 3 lime slices, 2 teaspoons dried rosemary, lime sugar cube
- If you prefer not to make a sugar cube you can put the sugar and zest (and herbs, if using) in a piece of waxed paper and tie up with a piece of string.

Hi! I'm Sheri!
Welcome to my little corner of the web where you’ll find easy, delicious recipes, the best kitchen hacks and simple tips for turning your home into a clean haven that is free of toxins. So glad you’re here!
Sheri! Not only is this idea so creative (I can see why Chelsea bought you one for a gift), but the way you made these…simply gorgeous! All the different variations. And since I’m a visual person, seeing them all poured out of the jar is all the recipe I need. I love the labels and how you packaged them up. Makes me wish I drank Bourban…or anything. Out of this world gorgeous!
Thank you my friend – right back at you! xoxoxo
Could I have the labels?? Such an amazing idea

I’m so glad you like it! So hard to find something different!!
Planning to make these this holiday!! Is there somewhere to purchase/download your great label templates? Thanks!
Hi Sarah! I’m flattered that you liked them! I think I created them on Picmonkey but I just emailed you the images!
hi – I would also love to get the templates if you wouldn’t mind sharing. Thank you!
Not at all – sending now! 🙂
Do you still have the template, I’d love it as well. Thank you.
Just emailed!
Trying tonight !! Please send those beautiful labels !!
Hi! Yay! You can actually print them right from the post! I added a link because so many people were asking. If you’re having trouble finding/printing let me know and I’ll send them to you via email! 🙂
Do you think adding bitters to the sugar would work for the old fashioned?
Or would the orange zest be enough?
Great question! I purposely didn’t include bitters because not everyone has access or would be inclined to use them. That said, I think that the recipe can be easily adapted so I would try it! If you do please let me know and I’ll include it in the post! 🙂
Adorable! so excited to tray!
Thank you! Let me know how they turn out! 🙂
I love these and started dehydrating my fruit last night in the air fryer. Like Sarah, I would love the label too!
About how many drinks do you get out of one jar? 4? I am thinking a typical cocktail is about 3 oz?
What do you think about adding bitters to the sugar cube instead of water? Wondering if that would be an epic fail?
Hi! Will email you the labels; my pleasure! The number of drinks you’ll get will depend on how you “mix”! I just added a splash so I believe I got closer to 6 – but 4 – 6 sounds about right! As for the bitters I think that would work beautifully and please let me know if you try that; I’ll add it to the recipe!
Going to try these today! Not sure I want to make my own sugar cubes – think I could put a drop of citrus essential oil on each? I would love the labels as well!
I’m not sure if the oil would do the trick but you could try – let me know if you do and I’ll add it to the recipe! Sending the labels now! 🙂
Where are the labels from? They are beautiful
I’ll send them to you! 🙂
Love this so much! I just made a dozen to gift to my co-workers. Dehydrating the citrus made my house smell heavenly all day. Would you mind sharing the printable label files? They are perfect for the presentation. Thank you for sharing this – I can’t wait to gift them!
Hi! Yay! I’m so glad you liked it – sending the labels now! 🙂

Of course! Just sent!
Hi! I’m just wrapping up making a batch for my team members for the holidays. The labels are absolutely adorable. Would you mind sharing? Thanks in advance! I’m confident my team will love the infusions!
Just emailed!
Love the labels would you please share them?
Just emailed!
Do you have any ideas how to use this for a mocktail? Was thinking of using this as a bridal shower gift but wanted to have a mocktail suggestion as well! TIA
Absolutely! Based on the flavor I’d swap with sparkling water/juice/combination of both! So for the Old Fashioned I’d maybe do orange juice, the Paloma, sparkling water and grapefruit juice, Moscow Mule ginger beer, Hot Toddy apple cider? I hope this helps; let me know what you do! 🙂
Hello Sheri, These look amazing and I am planning on making them for my team. Could I please have the labels? Thank you so much!!!!
Just emailed you! 🙂
These look amazing! Would you please send me the label templates?
just sent! 🙂
So excited to do these as well. Question….I am not sure how to do the sugar cubes so will try to put a sugar cube in with zest and wrap in wax…tie and leave in jar for the 2 days? I would love labels if available.
That’s why I put the note in about an alternate way to do the sugar – not everyone wants to make the cubes! 🙂 Sending you the labels now; let me know how they turn out!
These jars are super cute and seem like they won’t be too hard to make! I’m planning to make them for family and friends. I’m going to join the majority of the commenters and ask if you would mind sharing the label with me as well? I’m so excited to make them. I’m also interested in adding bitters. I’ll let you know what happens when I experiment.
Yes! Let me know about the bitters! 🙂 I just put a link to a printable PDF since I’ve gotten so many requests for these labels! https://sherisilver.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/infused-liquor-labels.pdf Let me know if these work for you and thank you!
Hi so I am making the sugar cubes in like candy molds that look like little champagne bottles! I was wondering how many “cubes”/ bottles do I put in 1 jar ?
How cute! You’ll need 2 – 3 tablespoons of sugar per kit so I’d pour regular sugar into one mold then empty the mold and see what it measure out to. If it’s about a tablespoon I’d put 2 – 3 “bottles” in! I hope that helps and would love to see when you’re done!
Hi,
Do you have the template with the directions on it as well? Do you have a version that can be shared with editing? Thank you!
Hi! I handwrote the instructions on the back so I don’t have anything printable. And the labels are on a pdf so they can’t be edited! I think I made them on either PicMonkey or Canva!
