homemade cocktail sauce is easier than I thought it would be!
So once I poached some shrimp it was not long before I had to learn how to make my own cocktail sauce.
Which is definitely one of those recipes that I just never thought about making for myself. And now that I’ve made it – and know how insanely easy it is – we have shrimp cocktail ON THE REGULAR.
I mean really, what’s better?
I’m sure there are fancier, jazzed up versions out there but this tastes EXACTLY like I want cocktail sauce to taste – and I think you’ll agree.
I love that such a crowd-pleaser can easily be whipped up any time, and hope you love it as much as I do!
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons horseradish
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste)
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Serve with cold poached shrimp and plenty of lemon wedges (curly parsley sprig garnish optional but cute).
