grapefruit mint scrub could not be easier, and is a refreshing, uplifting “spa in a jar”!
This week’s DIY has a lot of fans. I mean, it’s grapefruit mint scrub so how could it not???
I gave some out to a few friends this month and it was a big hit. And I understand why!
The combination of citrus and mint is a classic – it’s refreshing, uplifting and just what we need right now.
Any longtime readers here know that I’m a fan of scrubs (see here, here and here) – they are so easy to make, customize beautifully, and are a sweet and simple “spa in a jar”.
I always have a scrub in the kitchen – to mitigate the effects of all the hand washing I do during the day – and in the shower. And if you’ve never made one before you are in for a TREAT.
I’ve given you a basic recipe to work from; feel free to adjust the amounts of each oil according to your preference!
1/2 cup refined coconut oil, melted and slightly cooled
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
30 drops Grapefruit essential oil
10 drops Peppermint essential oil
Mix the coconut oil and sugar in a medium bowl. Add the essential oils and mix again. Transfer to an airtight container (or small jars for gift giving) and store at room temperature.
