diy lash serum is 2-ingredient EASY and so so good!
You can say good-bye to those crazy-expensive lash serums and make your own instead – it’s so easy!
One of the first DIYs I tried when I started using essential oils was a dry shampoo. I try not to wash my hair every day, but I have an oily scalp and rely on dry shampoo to get me through those in-between days. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much every “top 10” dry shampoo out there (several I’ve shared right here), but honestly none of them really worked for me. The thing I hated the most was how they made my hair feel – there was always this weird coating on it and it didn’t feel like my hair.
This DIY really worked and my hair felt great. I noticed after about a month or so that my hair actually started looking and feeling shinier and healthier. People would actually comment IRL or if I posted a video about how good my hair looked – and when I thought about what I was doing differently the only change was that dry shampoo. I did a little research on the oils I used – Lavender and Rosemary – and discovered that they are both EXCELLENT oils for promoting hair health and growth.
So why not try it on my lashes?
I did a little MORE research and fell on this recipe for a lash serum.
All you need is Lavender oil and castor oil – I was not surprised at all about the castor oil, as in my many hours of scrolling the internet to see what I could do to promote thicker lashes and brows, this oil often came up as a good one to try.
Verdict?
I LOVE it.
First of all, it smells AMAZING and I saw a difference in my lashes after a very short time. I am a bit of a heavy hand with the mascara and always worry about damage and breakage. My lashes feel fuller and softer and I know they are healthier.
Give it a try and let me know what you think! The tubes I’ve linked to come in a 4-pack so you can make a few to give to friends to try!
10ml empty mascara tube
castor oil
Lavender essential oil (interested in learning more about essential oils? start here!)
Place 15 – 20 drops of Lavender oil in the empty tube. Top with castor oil, being careful not to fill to the top. Insert the leak stopper and brush; turn a few times to blend.
To use: pull out the brush and wipe any excess serum on the neck of the tube. Apply to both sides of lashes. Using your thumb and forefinger gently pull your lashes to remove any extra serum, then rub the serum into your brows.
