cinnamon diffuser tags are SUPER easy, inexpensive and smell amazing!
These cinnamon diffuser tags have been on my to-do list for DECADES.
I can’t believe I waited this long!
All you need are a jar of cinnamon and a jar of applesauce – that is it!
A few hours in the oven and they’re ready to be used for whatever you like – ornaments, obviously, but they also make great gift tags, or additions to your garland (either tied on or added to a make-your-own!).
I left mine plain but you could decorate them with royal icing, just like you would a sugar cookie, or glue on any decor you like. Paint markers work well if you want to add names to use as a gift tag.
And though they smell SO good on their own, they also hold essential oils beautifully. I love the combination of cinnamon and any citrus fruit, so I put a few drops of tangerine on mine before adding to gifts and to my kitchen garland.
You’ll see that the recipe has a range of measurements for both ingredients. I’d start on the lower side of each, adding more applesauce if the dough is too crumbly or more cinnamon if too sticky. You really can’t go wrong!
Come back later in the week for another easy DIY diffuser tag!
1 – 1 1/4 cups ground cinnamon
3/4 – 1 cup applesauce
tangerine essential oil (optional)
Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees; line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix the cinnamon and apple sauce till a workable dough forms. Roll out between 2 pieces of parchment paper, to a thickness of about 1/4″. Use a glass or cutter to cut out shapes; poke a hole in the top of each if using as an ornament or tag.
Bake for about 2 hours, or till hardened. Let cool completely, then decorate as desired. Add 2 – 3 drops of essential oil, if using.
