End of August is always a bittersweet time of year for me – and most of you too, I imagine.
I feel a strange need to “hang on” to summer, yet there’s a part of me that’s looking forward to fall – fall clothes, fall cooking, fall weather.
So in an effort to assuage any summer’s-ending-blues, I’ve decided to devote this month’s “C/C” to all good things fall!
Crushed: You know how much I love transitional pieces. This shirt dress from Boden is one I’ve been living in all summer – and the dark color and roll-up sleeves will bring me right into fall, too.
Crushing: After much back and forth about “which clog“, I ultimately landed on these for summer. And I “think” this black pair will be my wear-with-socks-and-tights choice for fall. Update: I wound up getting these instead. Love.
Crushed: Noah starts kindergarten in less than two weeks! I’m in deep, deep denial and busying myself with outfitting him for his big day. I started with the backpack, of course (secretly excited that he picked the same color as mine). Update: the “mini” version of this backpack is SUPER small – too small for kindergarten – so Noah picked this in its place!
Crushing: Hoping to have more than the occasional manicure now that we’ll be back into a regular routine. And while I still love this green for fall, I’m crushing on shades of tan and brown too.
left to right: Fierce No Fear, Mink Muffs, Over the Knee, Hot Coco
Crushed: I also hope to read a bit more – in the past few years I’ve gone from being a voracious reader to someone who can’t get through more than one page a few pages of a magazine each night. And I plan on starting with Roz Chast’s new book. I’ve loved her cartoons FOREVER and she never fails to make me laugh out loud.
Crushing: And of course I can’t wait for Lena Dunham’s book to arrive.
And speaking of…………..here are a few links I’ve enjoyed lately!
If you love Roz Chast too, you’ll enjoy this article about her new book.
Something to tide you over while waiting for “Girls” to return.
You will not be able to unthink these while doing your fall shopping…..

Roz Chast was my fave read this summer!
I love her so much.
