who doesn’t love s’mores?

You know I love a good s’mores and these deliver – all you need are graham crackers, candy melts and marshmallows – and some decorative sprinkles, of course! Feel free to double or triple the quantities shown; this recipe scales up beautifully.

what ingredients do you need?

To make these red white and blue s’mores you’ll need:

  • Graham crackers
  • Red candy melts
  • Blue candy melts
  • Marshmallows
  • Star sprinkles (optional)

how do you make them?

These little cuties are super easy to make. Simply dip half your graham crackers in red candy melts and half in blue candy melts. If you like, you can top the red crackers with star sprinkles. Let set and assemble your s’mores!

These s’mores are a bit different from the traditional in that the chocolate isn’t added to the sandwich – it’s already coated on the graham crackers! When the crackers combine with the toasted marshmallows the coating melts right in. And those sprinkles, while optional, give the most delightful crunch!

You can serve the crackers and marshmallows separately on a tray, or do as I did and create little bundles that guests can grab to create their s’mores!

And talk about versatile – you can easily use graham crackers for a perfect GF version, and switch up the candy melts for any themed celebration (Halloween? Gender reveal? Christmas? S’mores know no season!).

Instructions

  • Cut the graham crackers in half, for a total of 24 squares. For the neatest cuts use a serrated knife and a gentle sawing motion down the middle.
  • Melt the red candy melts in the top half of a double boiler set over barely simmering water. Working with one cracker at a time, dip into the bowl and gently tap on the rim to remove any excess. Place on your lined sheet pan. Repeat with 11 more squares and top with sprinkles if using. Clean out your bowl.
  • Repeat the above process with the blue candy melts (do not top with sprinkles, if using). Let set.
  • To make your s'mores, roast a marshmallow and place on one blue cracker. Immediately top with the dipped side of a red cracker and press gently. Eat immediately!
