five faves!

sharing my five faves today!

Happy Sunday!

Hopping on today because I have the pleasure of participating in a “Five Favorites” post as the guest of Annie, Cindy and Mary Ann!

Five Faves l sherisilver.com

Favorite finds are no stranger here – I have a whole category devoted to them! But it’s been a while since I’ve shared, so I was excited to put together a few of the things I’m loving lately.

Let’s get started!

1. Camo Pixie Pants

Old Navy Pixie Pants

Remember pants? Like, with buttons? Same. Pre-lockdown I lived in them, rarely if ever wearing joggers or leggings. But once we were quarantined full-time that’s ALL I wore. If I couldn’t pull ’em on I didn’t put ’em on. And they kind of worked with the oversized button-downs and sweaters I was sporting too.

But the weather is just starting to turn here in New York, and as we’re peeling back layers I’m more conscious of what I’m wearing. I’m ready to pack away my leather clogs and snow boots, and start breaking out my cute flats.

So pants are BACK – and I’m in love with this adorable pair from Old Navy!

The skinny fit and bit of stretch are helping to ease the transition from leggings, and the camo print just makes me happy. They’re on sale too!

2. Ellen Lubin-Sherman

It’s rare that I stop in my tracks on Instagram – I’m usually so busy scrolling that I barely even register what I’m looking at most of the time. But this picture!

The head wrap! The hair! The pants! Ellen is the epitome of style, but is also such a strong and individual presence. Unapologetically HER, without being preachy. I can’t get enough of her wisdom and outfits, and I think you’ll agree she’s one to follow.

3. Under The Influence with Jo Piazza

Under the Influence with Jo Piazza Podcast

I’ve been listening to this podcast since the first episode, and initially didn’t think it would be of interest to anyone outside of the blogging/influencer world. But if you use Instagram I think you’ll find it fascinating. Jo Piazza (who I love, and how I found the podcast initially) digs deep into the history of mom bloggers and influencers, and then tries to become a “successful” influencer herself (spoiler alert: it’s WAY harder than she thought it would be). What’s compelling about the series is how it talks about what it means to be “authentic” – how influencers get so much blow back for being “fake” and “artificial”, when it’s a more complicated matter once you start to probe a bit. Do ANY of us show the dirty, messy parts of our lives? And would these influencers be as interesting to us if they DIDN’T post beautiful, curated content? Lots to ponder. And she’s funny and real as hell.

4. Cat with a K Paleo Blondies

Cat with a K Paleo Blondies

Kathleen is no stranger here – or in my kitchen. Currently in my freezer is this big batch of gluten-free blondies that are absolutely delicious. I omitted the chocolate (natch) but you do you – paleo never tasted so good, and I don’t know how she manages to knock such guilt-free treats out of the park time and time again.

5. Supoon

Dreamfarm Supoon

Can you be obsessed with a kitchen gadget? I am. One of my first posts was about the dozen or so must-have baking tools in my kitchen. This spatula was in it and is the spatula I’ve used for the almost 4 decades I’ve been baking (I think I’ve had to replace it only 2 or 3 times). But then I discovered Dreamfarm, and decided to give their “Supoon” a try – and I am in love. This thing scrapes bowls and jars so clean that you could think you didn’t have to wash them. And the scooped head makes transferring batter to bowl or skillet mess-free. I still use my traditional spatula for folding ingredients, as I like the flatter head for that task, but this little guy has a permanent place in my kitchen (I actually have the mini version too, which is great for getting into smaller jars and containers).

Which is your fave? Be sure to head over to Annie, Cindy and Mary Ann and see what they’re sharing too!

HI Sheri, Fun to see you with this Sunday group. I clicked on Ellen’s blog, but don’t see any updated posts since 2019- also her Instagram page that her website links to isn’t operating. Am I missing something? . I would like to follow her! The gluten free blondies look delicious and the camo pants are adorable! Thanks for sharing them. Kim
