halloween “in the house”: bat & ghost chips

easy bat & ghost chips go sweet AND savory!

I wanted to end strong with my Halloween series this year. Hopefully I kept my promise to keep things easy, adorable, fast and delicious – and these bat & ghost chips check ALL the boxes.

And you can make them two ways – sweet AND savory!

Even better? You can get the very few ingredients that you need right at the grocery store – no eyeballs, candy melts or food coloring needed!

Simply cut out any Halloween shapes from refrigerated pie crusts. Brush with some melted butter and sprinkle with either cinnamon-sugar OR grated parm and Italian seasoning. Bake and serve!

The sweet chips are delish on their own or with a scoop of ice cream. And the savory version would be fun to serve with cocktails or mocktails – they are ADDICTIVE.

Obviously these are two yummy topping options but don’t stop there! The pie crust is the perfect base for any topping you can think of! You could top these chips with:

*everything spice

*lemon-vanilla glaze

*finely chopped pistachios and a sprinkling of sugar

*garam masala

*white chocolate drizzle

Need ’em vegan? Use a non-dairy spread in place of the butter (along with the appropriate toppings). Need ’em gluten-free? Use a GF pie crust.

Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Bat & Ghost Chips

2 refrigerated pie crusts, at room temperature
2 tablespoons butter, melted
grated parmesan
Italian seasoning
cinnamon-sugar

Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees; Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Unroll one of the pie crusts and cut shapes out using a variety of cookie cutters. Transfer cut shapes to your prepared baking sheet (the chips won’t spread while baking so they can be placed fairly close together). Brush with the melted butter and top with either the grated parmesan and Italian seasoning OR the cinnamon-sugar. Repeat with the remaining crust.

Bake for 5 – 7 minutes, or till golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
