How. HOW have I not made tahini Muddy Buddies till now?

In other news, send help.

Of the 3 humans residing here, I’m the only one who loves tahini (and I LOVE-LOVE it). So I knew that: a) I’d better make a small batch, “just in case” it was amazing, and b) I’d be in big trouble if it was, indeed, amazing.

You can guess where this is going.

My love of all things Muddy Buddies has been well documented here, but even I will admit that it is ridiculously sweet. But the tahini and halva temper that sweetness beautifully, and I was helpless to resist grabbing a handful (or six) every time I passed by.

Thankful for that “small batch” I made………….

I think this may be my very favorite version yet and would love to know if you give it a try!

Tahini Muddy Buddies

1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
4 ounces white chocolate, chopped
1 scraped vanilla bean (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
1/4 cup tahini
2 tablespoons butter
heaping pinch kosher salt
4 cups any Chex cereal (I used Corn Chex)
2 bars halva, chopped

Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper; place the confectioner’s sugar and sesame seeds in a large ziploc or plastic bag.

Melt the chocolate, vanilla bean seeds (or extract), tahini, butter and salt in the top half of a large heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Remove from heat, add the Chex cereal and fold gently but swiftly to coat. Pour the mixture into the confectioner’s sugar and toss to coat the pieces evenly. Spread out onto your prepared baking sheet and let cool. Transfer to a bowl, toss with the chopped halva and serve (store any leftovers – hahahahahahahaha – in a covered container or ziploc bag and good luck with THAT).
