hot cocoa kit

the EASIEST last minute foodie gift is this hot cocoa kit!

If you are still in need of a few quick slash cute holiday gifts, may I suggest this hot cocoa kit?

hot cocoa mix

Because sometimes (not always, but sometimes), it can be all about the packaging.

I mean, let’s be real here – these are nothing more than hot cocoa mix and marshmallows in a cute bag, tied up with a pretty ribbon and some candy canes. But you have to agree that it’s a pretty adorable presentation, right?

And sure, you “could” get all fancy and make your own mix (I’ve got a great one here). But this is a last minute gift, remember? So don’t stress it.

Pair this charming gift with some pretty mugs, a tag with instructions, and you’re done. And DONE.

Have a fabulous holiday weekend; hope you’re spending it with all the people you love. xo

Hi! Looks like that page that I linked to is broken – here’s my recipe: To prepare the cocoa, place 1/3 cup of the mix into a mug and add 1 cup of hot milk. Stir to blend and add your choice of toppings. We love freshly whipped cream, mini marshmallows, and candy canes but the choice is yours!

Hot Cocoa Mix (makes 10 servings)
1 1/2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
      1 cup confectioner’s sugar
      1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
      1 teaspoon cornstarch
      1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Freshly whipped cream, mini marshmallows, candy canes for serving

Place the ingredients into a medium bowl. Pour over a strainer that is set over another bowl and sift, using the back of a spoon to press out any lumps. Whisk to combine and transfer to an airtight container.

To make your hot cocoa, combine 1/3 cup of the mix with 1 cup of hot milk. Serve with freshly whipped cream, mini marshmallows, or candy canes.
