this all natural face mask is so easy and completely customizable!

all natural face mask

I absolutely LOVE this all natural face mask.

True story – from the time I could buy my own beauty products with my saved-up allowance and babysitting money, I spent most of that money on masks. My options were limited back then but my hands-down obsession was the classic “clay” mask. You know the one. You slathered on a gray-green paste and then waited while it hardened to a point that you could not blink or move your lips.

And it was the BEST.

My mask obsession remains strong to this day, though the product itself is a bit more “refined”. And I actually love making my own!

This is a current fave, and uses simply essential oils and a few kitchen staples.

natural face mask ingredients with essential oils tea bag honey egg

Honey is a humectant, and restores moisture to the skin without adding oil.

Green tea is rich in antioxidants.

Egg white tightens and tones fine lines.

I add essential oils that are designed for “mature” skin that tends to be oily:

Frankincense reduces oil while at the same time lessens the appearance of fine lines.

Patchouli balances oil while promoting a vibrant, smooth appearance.

Tea Tree has antiseptic properties which makes it helpful in fighting bacteria that can lead to breakouts (it’s also great for zapping the occasional zit!).

If you have a drier skin you can swap these oils for a combination of Lavender, Geranium and Ylang Ylang.

The mask smells  so good, and your skin feels soft and clean after using.
