making your own all natural stain stick is SUPER easy!
I’d like to introduce you to an old friend:
If you asked my husband or my big kids what this was they’d immediately say (without batting an eye), “Oops”.
“Oops”, in our family, refers to the ubiquitous squeeze bottle of detergent that lived near wherever the laundry basket happened to be in our house. It’s what we always used to pre-treat stains, until said stained item could make it into the wash.
So, “Oops, spilled ketchup on my shirt” eventually became, “Mom where’s the ‘Oops’?”. Each kid would get a bottle in his/her off-to-college package, and it was a mainstay in our household for decades.
When I started making the switch to plant-based products, laundry detergent was one of the very first things to go. As did my “Tide to Go” stick and our old friend “Oops”.
So I was happy to find this recipe for an all-natural stain stick that CRUSHES stains. And I have a lot of them, given that I work with food almost every day, all day. And, TBH, happen to be very klutzy too.
The stick is nothing more than equal parts Thieves Household Cleaner and Thieves Dish Soap, along with a few drops of Lemon oil for extra cleaning prowess.
Just combine in a roller bottle and roll right on the stain. And it WORKS! I love the portability of the roller, and have a smaller one in my purse (to replace that Tide to Go stick!).
I’m giving away THREE stain sticks in my Instagram stories later this week, so keep on the look out – and let me know if you make it yourself!
30ml roller bottle (cute label by Seamlyss Designs)
1 capful (1 tablespoon) Thieves Household Cleaner
1 tablespoon Thieves Dish Soap
5 – 10 drops Lemon oil
Place all of the ingredients into the roller bottle – shake to blend. Roll onto stains as soon as possible and let sit prior to washing. Wash as usual.
Note: I include measurements because I know that I like to have exact amounts whether I’m baking or DIY-ing. But it doesn’t have to be perfect – just 50/50 of each ingredient and as many drops of Lemon as you like! This delicious recipe brought to you by Sheri Silver
