food photography & styling

I am passionate about sharing the “story” of a recipe, through process shots – from the raw ingredients, through various stages of cooking and baking, to the final “hero” images.

With my recipes, I strive to create photos that inspire without intimidating. I personally gravitate toward pictures of food that look delicious and “wow worthy”, but at the same time feel attainable. I want someone who looks at my images to not only think, “I NEED to make this”, but also, “I KNOW I can make this!”.

For my clients, I work to make mouth-watering images that are not only beautiful, but also descriptive of the products advertised. When it comes to menu photography or recipe reshoots, a detailed and clear photo can effectively set your business apart from competitors (and drive more hungry patrons to your door!).

My style of food photography is very much an extension of my personal style, which can best be described as clean, minimal and classic. My photos and styling are simple and unfussy; the goal is for the food to be the “star” of the image. Props are used sparingly, and to complement the food they are paired with. And I favor neutral plates and serving pieces, so as not to compete with the colors and textures of the ingredients (with the exception of a “pop” of color from a linen napkin or utensil handle!).
