So if you have young kids you are probably going to be greeted later today with a backpack full of Valentine’s Day cards from “the class”.

When Chelsea and Conor were young, this deluge posed a conundrum each year. The kids hated to part with the cards – and I hated the clutter.

So this is what we’d make:

These Valentine’s Day “placemats” couldn’t be easier, and are a cute, simple way to commemorate the holiday. The kids never got tired of looking at their classmates’ cards, and by the following year were ready for the next one!

To make, simply glue or tape the cards – collage-style – to both sides of any 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Cover with laminating paper and voila!
