favor-“ette”: the perfect tee shirt

Much like the white button-down, a simple tee shirt is a wardrobe staple.

And – probably like many of you – I’ve tried just about every brand out there. And read every round-up of “best tee shirts” I could find.

And nothing has ever quite worked. Too tight. Too boxy. Too “slouchy”. Too sheer. I started feeling like the Goldilocks of tee shirts.

And then – on a whim – I purchased this tee shirt from Everlane (images courtesy of Everlane).

Just right.

I don’t know how, but this is truly the perfect tee shirt. I returned my original purchase to size up, and was pleased that the fit was exactly what I was going for – fitted without being too tight. The quality is exceptional (does anyone else lose their minds over those tiny holes that appear in even the most pricey tees after a while?). And it sits comfortably in that space between casual and dressy.

Best of all? It’s $15.

These have held up beautifully to repeated washings, the black had nos faded and the white is still bright.
