I’ve been baking like crazy lately – and going through many bags of flour in the process.
And – like me – if you hate that “spray” of flour that happens every time you open a new bag, try this trick:
“Tapping” the top of the bag a few times will cause the flour to settle – and no more “poofs” (tip courtesy of Cook’s Illustrated).
These are my favorite types of tips – small things that make your time in the kitchen a little more pleasant (and less messy too)!
What’s your favorite “little” tip?

I’ll try that! I just discovered that snow peas line up neatly all ready to trim, when you rinse and shake them in a small handheld sieve/collander instead of a large one.
trying….
🙂
We buy 25 or 50 lbs at a time. I’ll try the tap, but I have my doubts when the bag is that big!
Yikes – I agree! 🙂
