As my love for the denim shirt began to grow, so did the number of denim shirts in my wardrobe. And while the fitted, medium-wash shirt is still highest in rotation, this is definitely a close second:

I love this oversized chambray button-up, in a lighter wash. I suggest going up one size from your usual, and go for a length that covers your bottom. You’ll be ready to go in outfits like these!
straight jean/infinity scarf/printed flats
For this look I wear the shirt untucked over slightly loose jeans that are rolled at the bottom (see the second photo in this post). The chunky scarf and printed flats keep things polished, yet casual and SO comfortable at the same time.
legging jeans/chunky sweater/suede flats
This outfit is all about proportions. The chunky sweater is paired with long skinny jeans for a balanced look. Wear the shirt underneath the sweater, with the bottom peeking out and the collar and cuffs poking through too. Bright red flats keep it all from getting too predictable.
tee shirt dress (similar)/baseball cap/sneakers
Here the shirt does double duty as a jacket – wear it over the dress, knotted in the front, for a sporty, totally adorable look. I wear this with sneakers in fall and spring and warm it up with tights and ankle boots in the cooler weather.
Even the most casual outfit can look pulled together – pop the shirt over a pair of charcoal gray leggings (a nice change from black) and under a cozy vintage-style sweatshirt. Finish it off with old-school sneakers.
I hope you enjoyed my little denim shirt “series” – did it inspire you to try out some new looks? Let me know!

I love all of these looks! Especially the no heels…which I never wear!
I wish I had your long legs!! 🙂
Love these looks, but the big issue for me is that I just can’t do the button shirt thing without a whole lot of tailoring.
I’ll admit that my complete lack of a curve occasionally comes in handy 😉
