favor-“ette”: fall nail color

Fall can be a challenging season in New York, wardrobe-wise.

Here we are in the third week of October and the weather is still in the upper 60’s, with sunny day after sunny day.

It’s not yet cool enough for sweaters and boots, but shorts and flip-flops don’t seem quite right either. Even my summery nail colors look all wrong – but I’m not ready for those burgundy and charcoal shades I wear all winter long.

So what to do?

Green.

I came across an article in Real Simple that recommended green nail polish as a perfect “summer-to-fall” transitional shade. And it’s perfect.

This is Essie’s “Navigate Her“, which I love and is very flattering to my skin tone.

In addition to the fall palette that’s all around……

I am a fan of the green Want to try an all green french sometime. My favorite still is OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques and Wooden Shoe. They’re in that taupe/grey/purple shade I love. Ah, to have nice manicure from a Russian woman. Thanks for this self care reminder.
    Love,

I’m a fuchsia/pink nail polish girl my entire life until the last couple of years when I’ve realized that I’ve out grown them. I love Essie and OPI and find I’m going for the “wine” colors for Fall now and in Summer I add shimmer to the color only on my toes for fun.
