blove: papernstitch

If I could – poof! – transform myself into a D.I.Y./crafty blogger, I’d want to come back as Brittni.

I am SUCH a fan – huge, huge fan – of papernstitch. And, of course, of this lovely lady right here:

I adore Brittni’s aesthetic, and I especially love the clean, fresh, joyful vibe her blog radiates whenever I visit. Which is often.

So what, exactly, is papernstitch all about?

Lots of good stuff – fun D.I.Y.’s (pretty much every single one of which I could execute – and actually WANT to).

Helpful and insightful tutorials and podcasts targeted to creatives (with a tone – whether visual or written – that’s light and fun, without ever “dumbing down” the message).

And photography that will delight you – whether you take the advice, make the project, or just enjoy the pretty.

Now this is the part where I usually share some of my favorite blog posts with you all. But I’ve decided to try something new this month, and ask the blogger to pick her favorite posts. And Brittni was kind enough to go along, even sharing why she loved those posts in particular.

It was fun to see which posts she chose, and why – I think I may do this every time!

Let’s take a look!

I’m thrilled that Brittni chose at least one floral D.I.Y., as those are some of my very favorites:

“This is one of my favorite projects ever. It’s something that was in my head for so long, and when I finally had the opportunity to bring it to life, everything came together perfectly (which hardly ever happens – usually there are at least a few hiccups).”

These votives are a perfect example of the “Yes! I could totally do this!” response that most of Brittni’s tutorials elicit:

“One of my most popular D.I.Y.’s ever (on Pinterest at least). Love the budget-friendly aspect to this one. Plaster is kind of my jam.”

I told you she was nice:

“This is kind of my mantra.”

As I can style a scarf exactly ONE way, I really loved this one:

“This was one of the first projects I hired a model for (and she has become someone I use all the time). We came up with the scarf designs together. It was a fun collaboration. Plus I love scarves.”

Brittni’s also a savvy curator, as evidenced by this business card round-up:

bring it: more business card inspiration

“I love looking at business card designs, so every so often I round up a handful of my favorites. This one was one of my most recent (and my fave so far).”

Pretty great, right? I know that you will fall in love with papernstitch, as I have – Brittni is very special and I’m thrilled to have discovered her and her wonderful blog.

Okay – so I couldn’t resist adding one of my favorites too – I’ve shared a number of Brittni’s D.I.Y. posts here in the past, but this post really spoke to me. As a blogger who has often felt that she is building her following one person at a time I was reassured to read that this approach actually has some value.

Thanks, Brittni!

Oops. Stich not snitch, fruit flies and overly creative brain are distracting me. I’d blame Fiona but she’s asleep. Again, Shalagh
