blove: corner blog

While perusing the “round table” line-up at Alt Summit SLC, this caught my eye:

“Growing and Maintaining a Small Blog with Pride”.

I immediately clicked on the speaker’s name. And I’m so glad I did, because it brought me to this beautiful lady:

This beautiful lady is Tiffanie Turner, of corner blog

I connected with Tiffanie on Twitter, and we struck up a nice exchange in the days leading up to the conference. And in the very final hours of the very last night, our paths finally crossed in the hotel lobby. She suggested we sit for a drink, and the time I spent talking with her was one of the highlights of the week for me.

I am SUCH a fan of this woman and her blog.

And if you love unusual, beautifully executed DIY’s, honest, witty writing, and a few surprises, you will be too.

Tiffanie is an architect, a painter, a crafter extraordinaire and more. Her blog is the type that makes you say things like, “I wonder what Tiffanie’s cooking up over at her blog today?” – because you never know what you’re going to find there.

But it’s always good fabulous.

For example, it could be the latest installment in her “101 uses for a donut pan” series. Yes, I said donut pan. Tiffanie is working her way through 101 ideas for a set of donut pans she owns. She’s about half-way there as of this post and I couldn’t love this idea more (donuts? hello?). Here are a few of my favorites (but I secretly love them all):

Chalk Donuts

Gum Drop Donuts

Donut Pavlovas

Or she could be photographing her beautiful, unusual egg pinatas. She crafts these individually, by hand, and they’re available at her Etsy shop (I’m the proud owner of one and they are totally charming, let me tell you!).

Or….you might find yourself adrift in one of her gorgeous DIY tutorials – the most stunning, IMHO, of which are her paper flower creations. Like this:

Tiffanie also has to-die-for handwriting (something I used to have but arthritis has all but ruined), and is a gifted artist (I adore these hydrangeas).

Oh – and she’s a burlesque dancer too (I TOLD you there were surprises!).

I don’t know that I would have discovered corner blog had I not seen the roundtable line-up at Alt. And yet it’s now one of my very favorites (as is Tiffanie). It makes me wonder how many other talented, imaginative creatives are “out there”, that are as yet unknown to me.

I’m just happy that Tiffanie is no longer one of them. So go check her out today!

Love her blog and love her.

That’s one of THE best things about ALT – not only do you get to meet your already-online pals, you get to meet new ones. Yay!

I never thanked you here, Sheri, so let me do that. Thank you! Thank you for such a lovely piece, and for featuring the things I do that make me the most proud. You were such a highlight for me at ALT (as was getting to know your posse of amazing ladies, including Sandra).

I’ve been reading your blog regularly now, and your photography is so beautiful, and the recipes just wonderful. I’m sorry if I don’t comment much, you know how it is with the kids and limited time, but just know I am reading.

    Thanks again! xoxoxo
