Got 10 minutes?
Then you can make this adorable (and functional!) craft caddy.
Now that Noah is (a little) more into arts and crafts I realized that he’ll be more likely to partake if all of his “tools” are visible and easily accessible. But the neat freak in me doesn’t want a bunch of markers and glue sticks lying around.
I love this idea. The tin is compact and lightweight enough for him to move around by himself, and the clever magnetic paper on the bottoms of the cups prevents tipping (but allows him to move the cups around).
Here’s how to make it!
Magnetic Craft Caddy
original idea from FamilyFun.Go.Com
What you’ll need:
Jumbo muffin tin – scout tag sales, dollar stores and flea markets – now that carb-loading is so “eighties”, these guys are widely available.
Plastic drinking cups – the 16 oz. size works best.
Adhesive magnetic paper – available at most craft and office supply stores.
How to make it:
Using a pencil or fine-tipped marker, trace the bottom of a cup onto the paper side of the magnet.
Repeat till you have a total of six. Cut out the shapes and attach the magnets to the bottoms of the cups.
Fill with your supplies!
Cute, right? How do you manage your kids’ art supplies? Any clever tips you care to share? Leave ‘em in the comments!
