favor-“ette”: fabric paper glue

I’m as much a fan of this week’s favor-“ette” as I am of its creator!

The last card holder I bought was way back in 2003, when I had my landscape design business cards printed. I got it at J. Crew (of course), in green (of course), and it’s been with me ever since.

Well you can imagine what this thing looked like after a decade of use. So as I got ready to attend Alt Summit, I decided that a new card case was in order.

And almost immediately I came upon Fabric Paper Glue.

I loved the fact that the holder was handmade, as well as the simplicity of both the construction and closure. Unfortunately the case wasn’t in stock before my trip so I decided to wait, as the cards wouldn’t have fit anyway (remember the M&M’s ?).

Well wouldn’t you know, I wound up sitting across from Mandy on the very first night of Alt. I didn’t realize it right away but once I did I immediately introduced myself as the “business card lady” (and she spoke to me anyway – nice, right?), and got to know her a little better (her card is also featured in my round-up).

I ordered my case upon returning from Alt and I love it. In addition to the card cases (which come in two sizes), Mandy also designs an adorable coin holder and a lovely, simple wallet.

Any of these would make a stylish, unique and affordable gift for those college grads next month, don’t you think?

And I must take a moment to point out Mandy’s fabulous blog too. Her posts are delightful – clever, charming and (mostly) doable (I MUST learn to sew). She has regular features that basically defy you not to take a look – like “Tipsy Tuesday”, “Try This” (not to be confused with “Tried That”) and “A Fabric and a Font” (my personal favorite, duh).

Mandy’s funny as hell and completely adorable. I’m a fan – and you’ll be too!
