favor-“ette”: julia’s lip tint

Yes, it’s ANOTHER must-have lip product for you to try…

I was thinking about this – why so many lip posts?? Well, because other than mascara (which I will do a separate piece on soon!) it’s the only make-up I wear regularly. It’s also the most frustrating to shop for. Between finding the right color, AND a formula that’s comfortable to wear AND one that’s long lasting, the misses far outweigh the hits.

This one’s a hit, guys.

And I’m especially excited because I’ve had the opportunity to engage with the owner/creator (how often can you say that about your make-up?).

julia's lip tint

Julia’s Lip Tint is a liquid lip stain, composed of a rosewater and glycerin base. These ingredients make the product a pleasure to apply and have the added benefit of softening the lips too.

Even better, this lip stain delivers! I’ve been playing with it for a few weeks, to be sure that I could confidently recommend it to you all.

I love it. Usually stains are not at all long lasting, wiping off soon after they are applied. Not this. I put it on early in the morning and it is still going by lunchtime. The sheer formula lets your own lip color show through, adjusting the tint for a natural, flattering look. And because it’s sheer, you can also experiment a bit more with shades that you don’t usually wear. I of course went right for the orange/red (my “go to” – and it’s gorgeous!) but I also tried the plum. It’s a shade I typically shy away from but this was the perfect way to try it and it looked great!

To apply, use the built-in applicator (or a cotton swab), swiping just a small amount across your lips. Let it “set” for a few seconds before pressing your lips together, after which you can either leave it as is or add another layer or two for a deeper effect. For a sheer stain I’m impressed with how nicely the color builds with multiple layers.

Now here’s the best part – send an e-mail to juliasliptint at comcast dot net, and mention this post, and you’ll receive a second bottle of lip tint for free! How awesome is that?

This generous offer is good for one week, ending Wednesday, March 6th, 2013.

How about you? Do you have trouble finding the perfect lipstick? What’s your make-up  “challenge”?

I’ve been a huge fan of Julia’s Lip Tint for years. So glad it’s catching on! I’m a singer and I can sing and smile for hours and go out to dinner after a show and never have to think about lipstick.
