favor-“ette”: conversation heart frame

This was one of my very favorite Valentine’s Day crafts when Chelsea and Conor were little. I mean, who doesn’t love conversation hearts?

And this is one of those crafts that is simple enough for a very young child, yet appealing to older kids too.

As for Noah? He was into squeezing the glue on the hearts and letting me place them on the frame. For about two minutes….

What are some of your favorite kids’ Valentine crafts?

Materials
Wood picture frame – you can use any size or shape, just make sure that the surface of the frame is smooth and flat for easy gluing.
Acrylic paint (optional)
Craft glue
Conversation hearts

Paint the frame if desired; allow to dry completely. Place your picture in the frame before you start gluing.

Starting with the inside border, begin gluing the hearts in place – use just a small drop to adhere.

When the frame is completely covered, allow it to dry for 24 hours, laying flat.

From one non-DIYer to another, I love this idea. I think even a teenage girl would have fun with this!

Did you spray or paint anything onto the hearts to preserve them?

I didn’t – but you certainly could! Any kind of spray fixative would work well. 🙂
