couple of things…

Taking you “off-site” today – come join me!

I’m blogging over at Bonbon Break this week. Have you heard about this new blog? Kathy and Val (who each have wonderful blogs of their own) have partnered to “introduce exceptional blogs in an easy and fun format for busy moms, and to provide a place where bloggers can showcase their material”. The content is categorized by “room” (front porch, “mom cave”, kitchen, etc.) and I’m so flattered to have been featured there a few times since the site launched. This month I’m in the “backyard”, sharing some fall garden transition tips – which, with the cool, crisp weather we’re experiencing here in New York, couldn’t come at a better time!

I hope you enjoy the article, and while you’re there take a look at some of the talented contributors. The blog is chock-full of great stories, recipes, DIY’s and more!

We’re currently in Day 7  of the Water.org 10 day challenge. As I write this, we have raised a total of  $1,635 – that’s water for 65 people FOR LIFE. And it puts us more than halfway toward our goal of $2,500. Here’s my blog post about the campaign: $25 brings one person water for life. More than 3.5 million people die each year from water related diseases.* Every 20 seconds a child dies from a water related illness.* It doesn’t have to be this way in 2012, and solutions to this crisis exist. Your donation, and sharing this information, can make a real difference in the lives of people affected by this crisis.

If you’ve already contributed, then thank you so, so much. If not, would you take a moment to read and consider making a donation? Our fundraiser page is right here and it takes less than 2 minutes to contribute. I’m so grateful for your help.

Finally, today is the last day to vote for my little blog in the Circle of Moms Top 25 New York Moms (I’m #5 – crazy!!). I still cannot believe I was nominated and am just blown away by your response and support.  It’s MY mom’s birthday today so there’s some nice symmetry going on for me!

That is all – I’ll catch up with you right back here on Friday – have a glorious day!
