thursday thoughts

So here I am, back to Thursdays with Noah. Where did the summer go?

I loved the fact that my outings with Noah were on Thursdays, as that was typically my “day” with Chelsea over the summer. And while her work schedule didn’t allow for as many adventures this year, we managed to squeeze a few in.

And they were wonderful.

I couldn’t help but reflect on the world of differences between the two “Thursdays”. It was by about the 2nd or 3rd time out with Chelsea that I began to take note, and I don’t know how it even took that long. I mean, a day out with a toddler is about as different from a day with a 21-year-old as you can get, right?

I got to look at art that came with safety regulations and height requirements.

And pretty-clothing art (with photos snapped on the sneak, of course).

There was shopping.

And grown-up drinks.

And awesome hotel views. From the room,

and even underneath.

I actually stopped AND smelled the flowers.

And took as much time as I liked to admire the skyline.

I wore heels.

And ate lunch on a real plate, with nary a stick cheese in sight.

I even discovered a hidden, magical villa.

This week it’s back to sippy cups, strollers and wipes. Lots of wipes. But it’s okay – because I really do have the best of both worlds.

And not just on Thursdays.

Big kids and little ones. Fun for Mama. My oldest is 19 and baby is 3. BTW, where did you get that fab dress? Gotta have versatile clothes for the different kinds of fun huh?

Aw, your words truly touched me! Wow – they ARE two completely different worlds and it’s so great that you’re able to get the best from both of them! I just finished up my nanny job and returned to school this week (huge changes all in one week) and I already miss the wipes and sippy cups, though I’m very excited for this new chapter in my life as well. I hope Chelsea is off to a great start to her final year and that you and Noah will have many wonderful adventures to come! I love your photography and the two of you look absolutely beautiful!

I am getting all teary-eyed at the end of summer – summers used to last soooo long and now as a mom they zoom by. I imagine that although Chelsea is almost done college, that summers still feel long.

Sweet to make memories that all three of you will have forever.

Tell Chelsea that when I walk by a certain retailer, that I always think of her. And wish her well in her last year of college.

    Line of the day:
“And ate lunch on a real plate, with nary a stick cheese in sight.”
Very funny, and yet I understand how awesome that can be.
