star light

We had a great evening at the Time Warner Center last night. A friend told me about the “Holiday Under the Stars” light show that they put on each year and it sounded like fun. It features twelve 14-foot stars that hang in the main atrium of the mall. The stars change colors during the show, which is set to holiday jazz music by Wynton Marsalis and members of Jazz at Lincoln Center.

We started with dinner at Landmarc, one of several restaurants in the mall. I chose it for its extensive children’s menu and it did not disappoint. Noah was presented with crayons and paper right away and even a pint-sized travel water (with straw!). He was in heaven.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and we always appreciate a restaurant that caters to Noah while serving up great “grown-up” food in a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

We caught the 6:00 show (it runs every half hour beginning at 5 p.m.) and it was really lovely.

Although, truth be told, Chelsea and Conor were somewhat more interested than Noah, who had suddenly made two new friends.

This was an easy, festive, INDOOR activity for the kids. The mall also has a Whole Foods for a quick snack if you don’t want to sit down for a full meal, and there is usually a Wafels and Dinges truck outside  (wait – you’ve never heard of Wafels and Dinges? Oh. My. God. The best Belgian waffles ever).

Try to catch it if you can!
