holiday baking: it’s a brittle and bark smack down!

GAAAHHH! We’re running out of time and I have so many more recipes to share!

Okay – here are three delicious, easy recipes – one bark and two brittles – that  would make a nice addition to your holiday “sweets” mix. They all come together very quickly, with minimal measuring, fussing and clean-up.

First up is a white chocolate peppermint bark. This is one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever come across and it is a crowd-pleaser every time. The candy canes are a nice, bright contrast to the chocolate, and keep it from getting too cloyingly sweet, as white chocolate can sometimes be. If you want to jazz it up, drizzle a little dark chocolate on top.

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark

2 lbs. white chocolate, chopped
20 small candy canes or 12 large

Line an 11 x 17 pan with parchment paper (or a Silpat).

Chop candy canes into small pieces. Melt white chocolate in a large bowl and stir in chopped candy canes.

Spread evenly on prepared pan; chill till firm then break into pieces.
