favor – “ette” friday!

-ette
noun suffix
little one <kitchenette>

I am very excited about this new feature!

I come across so many products, treats and gadgets in my travels –  a delicious jam, a nifty little kitchen tool, a to-die-for bag/shoe/accessory. I want to photograph them, write about them – you know, share them – with you all, but haven’t because I didn’t think they were “post-worthy”.

(insert lightbulb moment here)

Allow me to introduce Favor – “ette” Friday!!

Each week I will post a short review of a fave new “something” that you have to know about – and here’s the deal – I would LOVE LOVE LOVE your feedback and contributions. Have a Favor – “ette” Friday item? Share it with us here! Let’s kick off the weekend on a fun note……..

First up (courtesy of my mom) – Vazu!

One of my pet peeves is receiving flowers as a hostess gift. Mind you, I love the flowers, it’s just that I hate having to stop whatever hostess-y thing I’m doing and (quickly) find a vase that’s the right size and shape. As a result, I typically avoid bringing flowers to someone’s home for just that reason.

Enter Vazu. I LOVE this company’s vases and know you will too. They are made from a flexible material that, when opened and filled with water, expands to become a sturdy, durable and lightweight vase.  The vases look like glass and are completely stable.

They come in dozens of colors and patterns, with a number of cute shapes to choose from.

Better still, when not in use they fold flat and can be stored in a drawer.

And possibly best of all, they are incredibly affordable – ranging in price from $5-$10. I always have several on-hand to give as gifts as they are completely unexpected and never fail to be a big hit (don’t you find it hard, if not impossible, to think of a hostess gift that is reasonably priced and hasn’t been done to death?).

Even the packaging is clever, and eco-friendly too – it is part of the vase, which you remove to use by tearing off the top. You can even trim the height of the vase to match the size and shape of your arrangement.

Take a look – and Happy Friday!

Saw these years ago in Switzerland but not nearly as groovy looking (plain, clear, different sized paper bag style). I can’t wait to get and give some.
    YAY!!

great post. another idea for the Vazu would be to bring with flowers when visiting someone in the hospital.

LOVE that idea! I am the same as you – drop everything you’re doing to find a vase (which is usually in the basement), cut the stems, etc. This is a fabulous invention!
